Don't Worry About Zohran Mamdani: How Bad Can He Be?

Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic mayoral primary, and New Yorkers to the right of Joseph Stalin are in a panic.

Mamadani promised to raise taxes on "whiter neighborhoods" like the one he lives in, but he assures us that he's not a racist.

He alarmed NYC's Jewish voters with his call for globalizing the intifada, but he's backed away from that phrase and denies being antisemitic.

I don't think things will change much in the Big Apple if Zohran becomes mayor. He can't be any worse than other blue city mayors: Karen Bass of Los Angeles, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Latoya Cantrell, whom New Orleanians lovingly refer to as Latoilet.

New York was already in the trash can before my dear old Mamdani showed up, and an outflow from the city was well underway. Sean Hannity recently urged New Yorkers to move to Florida, where the weather is better, taxes are lower, and crime rates are less alarming. But New Yorkers have been fleeing south for decades.

In my view, the number one reason to take the last stage out of New York is not taxes or weather. Rather, people should scram from NYC to escape a corrupt justice system--a system that is willing to prosecute people who pose a threat to the leftist Democratic machine. Just ask Donald Trump or Eric Adams.

Someone who runs afoul of Letitia James or Alvin Bragg could wind up being criminally prosecuted and could even do jail time. Even if a person defeats a politically motivated criminal case, that person could be driven into bankruptcy by the attorney fees.

Even little people are at risk of being prosecuted unjustly. Daniel Perry was charged with criminal homicide after he defended fellow passengers from a mentally deranged man who had been threatening subway riders for years.

I suffered a stroke two years ago and need to walk with a cane, which signals to the world that I'm vulnerable. What if someone attempted to shove me onto the tracks at a New York subway station and I  injured my assailant by hitting him in the nuts with my CVS cane? I'd probably be more likely to be prosecuted for assault than the guy who tried to kill me.

Little people have been evacuating NYC for years for all the obvious reasons. Now, wealthy people- people with the resources to live comfortably and safely in our nation's largest metropolis--are getting out too. High taxes and onerous regulations are part of the motivation. Still, a corrupt and politically driven criminal justice system is undoubtedly a significant reason for businesses and rich people to pull up stakes.

It's only a matter of time before the New York Stock Exchange moves to Dallas and the Rockettes move to Chattanooga.

I'd walk a million miles for one of his smiles--Mamdani!

What the hell was Nancy Pelosi doing in Belgium anyway?

The will to power came to take the place of the will to justice, pretending at first to be identified with it and then relegating it to a place somewhere at the end of history.

Albert Camus

Last December, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi suffered a severe injury while traveling in Europe. She fell in her high-heel shoes and underwent hip replacement surgery in Luxembourg.

What the hell was Nancy Pelosi, a wobbly octogenarian, doing in Europe anyway? According to a press release from her office, Pelosi traveled to Belgium and Luxembourg as a member of a bipartisan congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

Really? Does anyone think Nancy's junket benefited her California constituency in any way? And how did she get to Belgium? It's safe to assume she didn't fly coach.

Nancy went to Belgium five years ago to attend the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Isn't one European holiday enough for Nancy to celebrate the Second World War?

Americans will remember that the Democrats were predicting the end of democracy last fall if Trump were elected President. They were calling him a fascist and a Nazi. Given the perilous state of the Republic, why did Pelosi think it was a good idea to put on high-heeled shoes and go to Belgium?

Our so-called progressive politicians pretend to be fierce advocates for social justice, but all they really want is power and the perks that go with it. Karen Bass, mayor of the nation's second-largest city, was in Africa as a presidential delegate when the Eaton and Palisades fires broke out. Is running Los Angeles a part-time job?

Our national debt tops $36 trillion and grows bigger every day, and yet President Biden, far gone in senile dementia, jets off to Angola. Meanwhile, federal bureaucrats don't even show up for work.

America's house is on fire, and Donald Trump showed up to douse the flames. Unfortunately, he may have arrived too late to save us.

Thank you for your service!

Los Angeles Wild Fires: The Lord's Burning Rain

This old town is filled with sin
It'll swallow you in
If you've got some money to burn
Take it home right away
You've got three years to pay
But Satan is waiting his turn.

Gram Parsons, "Sin City"

I'm not blaming anybody for the Los Angeles wildfires. Yes, the water hydrants ran dry in some burning neighborhoods, but no one could possibly have envisioned a conflagration as massive and catastrophic as the inferno that overwhelmed the LA firefighting infrastructure.

And I'm not blaming Mayor Karen Bass for the fire disaster. She had no business traveling to West Africa on a political junket while a disaster was looming, but Bass didn't start the fires.

For me, the LA wildfire is nationally significant as a sign of the arrogance and cluelessness of America's political and media elites. The people in LA's elite neighborhoods sneered at the working folk in Flyover Country as they insulated themselves from the real world with chauffered limousines, gated communities, and private bodyguards.

The glitterati labeled working-class patriots as "white Christian nationalists," despising them as racists because they worried about crime and our country's open southern border.

Hollywood moguls made boring, overlong films full of woke DEI drivel and then wondered why movie attendance was down.

Movie stars donated millions of campaign dollars to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris even though they knew both were idiots.

Now, the chickens have come home to roost, and the Tinseltown world of the West Coast elites is falling apart.

I feel sorry for the average Angelinos who lost their homes in the wildfires, but I have no sympathy for the wealthy assholes who got rich under Bidenomics and whose cosmos is going up in smoke.

Mayor Karen Bass and her DEI minions are done--exposed as incompetent dolts. Governor Newsom and Kamala Harris are done as important political figures, having shown no talent for leadership. George Clooney and Julia Roberts, sycophantic fundraisers for the Democratic Party, are done as respected movie stars.

Many West Coast elitists are still rich, but their wealth won't save them from irrelevance. As Gram Parsons put it, "On the thirty-first floor, a gold-plated door won't keep out the Lord's burning rain."
